I guess the question is, what do people feel they are sacrificing by entering into a practice of borrowing from/loaning to neighbors? Is it a real sacrifice? Is it worth the dividends?  Probably has something to do with physical proximity no longer being the greatest influence on community spirit--to our (and tony&#039;s) chagrin.</description>
